Assembly

At Barton Products we assemble all our frames using a high quality P.V.A. adhesive. The parts are placed in jigs mounted between cramps which ensure that the model is pulled up tight and square.

The strength of our frames is paramount and traditional mortice and tennoned joints are used where ever possible, along with dowelled joints, glue and screws. The assembled frames are then finally sanded preparing them for polishing or upholstery.

Some items return to sanding after assembly or back into the machine shop for further work. Quarter dowelling, grain plugging and other detailed joint finishing are all carried out in this department.

It should be noted we only assemble to order and keep no stock of assembled components.
